Vintage Stock
Want to learn how to make quick layout? Follow along to create a similar result that looks like this! I will also be using Photoshop CS4 for this tutorial. Please note that the brushes used in this tutorial were not created by me. I will start from scratch in this layout so i might make lots of changes.
- Open up a new document with the size of 960×200. Fill it up with whatever colour or pattern you want. I will be using this pattern. Upload it to Photoshop and define it as a pattern. Fill your image up with it.
- Make a new layer. Use your rectangle tool and draw a rectangle inside. Fill it up with a pattern. I used this pattern. Add a stroke if you want. This is mine so far.
- Now we’re going to add some text. First we will add our site name to it. I choose to use a sketchy font that a cute font because it fits the layout more. We want the layout to be colourful so I suggest you use a colour that will have that effect.
- Next is to add some kind of texture or brushes. I will be using stocks from this text festival. Do not forget to credit the owner. Pick some you like and just put them around the layout. Don’t just put them anywhere make sure it fits. This is what I got.
- As you can see on the last step, I changed my font and pushed down the second layer a bit. The new font goes a bit better with everything. Download 1 and 2 add them to the layout.
- I changed the fonts again because with all the stocks, the old font wasn’t working out. This is my outcome:
- We are almost done. We just need to add some colour. The stocks make it look vintage so we’re going to add a vintage colour to it.
- Download this curves preset and upload it to Photoshop then add it to your image.
