Simple and Beautiful

The following tutorial will be done in Photoshop CS3 and can be followed in all other Photoshop programs, it can also be done in Paint Shop Pro because this tutorial does not use Selective Coloring.

Open up a new layout, fill it up with any pattern you want. Next, Add some text, it doesn’t have to be a site. It’s could a quote of some sort. Add a text effect to it. You can find some here, including the one that I am currently using.

Now we got to the background layer (layer with pattern). We carefully move the patter up a lot. Drag all the way too the top but not too much. Make a new layer and drag it all the way to the bottom. Now fill that layer with a color that fits your pattern. Now double click on the pattern layer and add some stroke. I make mine 2px and used a color that fits the pattern. This is what I have so far.

Now we are going to add our navigations. Type the links you want right underneath the patter and the quote. You can add some text effect if you wish or just leave it like that. I added a text effect to mine. You can find the tutorial for that here. Now that we’ve done that, the top of the layout is a little empty, so we add another text to that part. I will be using my site name. Add another text effect.

Now you can some coloring or brushes. Whatever you please. In the end, this is my final result.
