Hey there. Just found your blog. You have a beautiful layout. Tehe, just had to tell you this first.
Anyways I went through the same thing you just did; during my first years of high school I thought that I wanted to major in web design and make a career out of it because I have been in the web world since I was eleven. The older I got though, the more I realized that I didn’t want to be stuck in front of a computer screen for the rest of my life as my only source of income.

I love web and graphic design, but I would not want to make it a career, I would rather keep it a hobby and incorporate it with whatever job I do end up getting (I want to be a teacher, and so I want to make a classroom website for my students).

Anyways, I wish you luck in whatever field you choose. You still have time to think. I was clueless until my senior year when I knew in my heart that teaching is what I wanted to do.
As for the Hangover 2, I saw it as well. I didn’t see the first one and I only saw this one because my boyfriend dragged me along, lol…but I didn’t like it really. It was funny sometimes, but these aren’t my kind of movies. I like comedies, but I tend to stick with family comedies that don’t have disgusting images, ha.

i was wondering about studying graphic design and web design myself in the future, but i actually like having it as a hobby (: it would be fun to try to work with it as well, as long as it doesn’t developes to be too much.

OMG! really Isi? I think Engineering is a great choice too. But if I was to switch my course too I’d pick the one you let go because that’s what my heart wants and that’s what I’m really into doing. Unfortunately, my mom disapproved with that and asked me to take up Nursing instead. o__O

OMG when i started reading your blog i though you were closing down the site >.< i'm a big fan of your work, you always have the best site layouts and your graphics are amazing and i mean it i'm not just saying that.

I guess a lot people change their mind about what to study once their get closer to leave for college, and yay on almost being a senior

I want a career in webdesign when I grow up, but, when I go to college, I’m planning to take something similar but gives me more opportunities. I’ll probably take a Computer Science or I.T. course.

I’m going to a Junior in a couple of weeks, and I still don’t believe it!

I’ve been lurking on your site since about last year and I just wanted to say that your site is wonderful! I’m commenting for the first time because I seriously understand this post. [I mean, I understand all your other posts too lol, but this one speaks to me]. I’m about to be 17 in September also, but I’m going to be a Junior, not a Senior, even though I’m older than you lol.

I’ve been using Photoshop since the summer of 2008. I’m not as good as I should be though, after all this time using it. I still really like graphic design, but the passion isn’t there for me anymore. I still don’t know what I want to major in. I’ve been thinking Business, but I don’t really know.

This will probably be the only time I’ll comment lol, so I’ll be crawling back into my lurking hole! I wish you luck with everything though

That’s exactly how I feel I used to have crazy passion for web-design but now it just feels like a chore and there were so many things i wanted to do before that i don’t even want to try now because it just seems soo….ugh. I’m not the kind of person to back out of something like this because i used to love so much but right i just want it anymore. I also don’t want to base my future on a computer, i don’t want to stare at a computer 24/7.

I do hope to hear from you if you can.

I know what you mean about “giving up web design”; I decided I want to do that at first but then I figured, why bother? We’ve already taught ourselves so much, there’s no real reason to go to school for it. That in mind, I’m majoring in something else but I’ll still keep it as a hobby like you. If some people already think I’m a professional, I think I can pull it off. Don’t worry about figuring it out right away. People change their majors all the time. You should definitely have an idea within two years of college; after that, you need to complete your prime and core classes.

Hey Isi :)! :O! I always think majoring in Graphics Design is challenging- because of the economy and competition. :/. Economy because there’s not a lot of companies out there hiring a full time g-designer. Unless I’m missing out on something XD! But Engineer! If you do decide to go into that category, good luck :D! I think you should major in engineering. It’s awesome for your future. Seriously. You have the dedication skills, and it can work out :D!

:O! WOW! 51 icons is a lot! I say it’s a lot because I usually just get frustrated after 1 icon made :P. Keep it up (:! Andddd. Hope you’ll have an awesome last days in school :D! And hope you’ll have an awesome summer ;P

I heard a lot of movies that has a sequel after the first series is like.. Not as good as the first one. If not, it is rarely better! D:! But at least you still watched it :P. I need to watch it on Saturday after the SAT’s.

Bradley Cooper also comes across as a lovely guy in real life in all the interviews I have seen him in. I think he is just gorgeous and I loved the first one. I laughed from start to finish.

As for my site, I have fixed it so no one has to register to comment, not sure what was going on there but it is all fixed now.

I totally get what you mean about keeping graphic design only as a hobby. I struggled with this decision as well when trying to choose my college major. I’m going into my third year of college now and I’m an English major. It took me a long time to figure that out lol. But yeah, everyone always asked why I wasn’t majoring in Graphic Design or something similar and I always used to say that I’d like to keep it as a hobby. If I made a career out of it, it would kill it and I wouldn’t love it anymore. I’d get sick of it eventually. Totally get what you mean there.

And ohh your icons are always so cute. Good job!
I never actually The hangover but everyone I know talked about it and tried to show me clips from it all the time. I did kind of want to see the second one even though I never saw the first because I figured it’d still be funny. From what I’ve heard it’s pretty funny but the first one still triumphs. Meh, that always happens with sequels, though, like you said.

I completely understand your feeling with the whole not feeling the web design thing. Sometimes I feel that way too. But you’re still young, and you have a lot of time to figure out what you really want to do.

If anything, this hobby could make you a bit of side money. It’s good to have skills not many have. 8D

I came up with the name Art Maestro because I’m an artist, and a maestro creates…stuff. I also had a teacher who organized musicals with little kids, and she would always call the DJ a maestro.

I want to see the Hangover 2. I know that sequels are usually never as good as the originals, but one of my favorite actors is in it–Ed Helms plays Andy in The Office. XD
Have you seen All About Steve? Bradley Cooper and Sandra Bullock are in it.

I want to major in Pre-Med when I’m in college. If I somehow change my mind later, I’d probably go into Computer Science. Web design is awesome, but I’d rather have it as a hobby instead of a professional career. Same thing with being a freelance artist.

Hey! Me too, about the whole change in thought about my future. I’m going to college soon and I’m sort of rethinking about what I want to do. At first I wanted to be a graphic designer, but then I was looking at my options. I’m probably want to get into advertising, which still implies graphic and web design…so I don’t know yet. I have to choose soon because the clock is ticking for me on what I want to decide…decisions decisions.

Anyways, that sucks to hear about the Hangover 2. I have yet to watch it but I’m still gonna see it anyways since I was such a fan of the first. I’m going in with low expectations, this way I won’t be too disappointed haha.

Engineering is a really great choice. Just enjoy engineering and don’t worry about web-designing. You’re still ever awesome in these designing things.

I haven’t went to the theater for a year. I’ll probably be watching a movie with my family at the mall tomorrow. I may watch Hangover 2, or maybe Kungfu Panda. Kungfu Panda appeals more to me, since I enjoy cartoonish movies like this.

Great choice on choosing Engineering I guess that some people don’t want to carry web design on. I don’t. Although I do want design to be a part of my life. I’m just not sure what kind though. :P

I agree, graphic/web design is a hobby that’s probbaly gonna stick with you for life, but it’s not something you want to do as a career. Hopefully you’ll find an area/major you really love I totally agree with you on Hangover 2…I was expecting a lot more, but it ended up just being a more obscene version of the first one :/

What you need to think is– is it good for the economy and do you want to do it? Architecture is a good path to go! Because unfortunately, natural disasters destroy homes. And these homes- needs to be rebuilt. And that’s where you come in! That’s where you’re needed in– in my philosophy. Unless I’m missing some point!
