I’m an Intern!

I’m officially a working gal! I got an internship at an Engineering firm, it’s a paid internship, so I make $10 an hour. I’ve never had a job before so this is a really nice first experience. Anyways I wanted to see what being an Engineering might be like and I’m not too keen on it. They just sit in a damn cubicle all day…that is so boring. It’s a nice place though and people from my school are there so I won’t be so bored. I also met some new friends which is a nice. The job is at the school headquarters and I get to see what the new schools will look like. My job right now is basically office work like scan papers, make phone calls, file papers and crap like that. I’m not complaining though because it’s better than sitting home all day. I work from 8am to 5pm so it really does keep me busy. I don’t work weekends though. :]

So how is everyone doing? I’m in the process of making more icons, I just need to get the coloring together and I will be done because after that it’s just easy. You know that feeling you get when you know you’ve accomplished something all by yourself? That’s how I’m going to be feeling at the end of this summer because I am going to take myself shopping. I usually bother my parents and they make this huge fuss about it and then I get mad and it just goes downhill from there. I hate it when that happens so I think this job is the best thing that has every happened to me.

I’m sure it was actually a most lovely British accent. I certainly do remember How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days! It’s one of my favourite romantic comedies. We tend to sing “You’re so Vain” every once in a while, lol.

Thanks. I’m sure he’ll do just fine. Although if he gets the job we’d have to move to the US (we’re in Canada) and that would probably turn out to be a bit of a hassle. Not to mention it would be pretty far away from our families. Guess I’ll just have to take things as they come though.
Oh and no you hadn’t already responded. That was the first so it’s all good, lol.

Congrats on the internship! It may not be the most glamourous but you have to start somewhere. I see that you’re already planning on putting that hard earned cash to use. Woo shopping!! At least now you know that engineering might not be a future career choice you’d want. Better than finding out later.

I know that is probably boring, but it sounds a lot better than my job. And it pays a lot better, too. Definitely a good experience, and it’s really great when you can actually buy things with your own money instead of having to ask your parents.(:

That’s pretty cool! I always think it’s cool when people get summer jobs, and sometimes I even wish I lived in a country with job opportunities for youth like America does. Sometimes I think teenagers are being too well protected and only college kids are allowed to drive and work. But, it sounds like your job isn’t that boring and you’ve made new friends already! I’d kill myself if I had to work in a cubicle. Not to be claustrophobic, but I find typical company work extremely dull and being separated from everyone would put me in quite a mood.

Yay! Congratulations on getting that job/internship! You’re very lucky to have found something like that, especially something that pays that high. Well, that’s high compared to our $7.40 minimum wage here ahah. It sounds like it is really keeping you busy haha those are some good hours though, so I’m sure the money will be well worth it in the end. Good luck!

Lol when I got my first job I was so excited to be able to go out and spend my money however I wanted. I remember the first major thing I bought was an iPod touch, they were cool then haha. I felt so good about being able to buy it myself. I know you’re going to enjoy the feeling as well!

LOL. A lot of people I know think I’m crazy for pursuing an English major because they hate writing so much. I pretty much hate everything else but writing so I think they’re crazy lol. I tried so many other classes to find a different major (for my mom, really) and realized I’m not good at much else hahaha.

AHH. Easy A, I forgot about that movie haha. I think her name was Olive in the movie though? Or maybe that was a nickname, who knows lol . But yes, it is cute!

no bunch of people, it was only my teacher and then the sensor (the stranger), it didn’t go too bad, but not exactly great either, and since i’m not satisfied with the grade i’m kind of disappointed. but oh well, life goes on and there will be more important exams in the future!!

You are soo lucky! I want a job like that soo bad. but its so hard to get jobs that pay good now days. Im only a student also so I would get paid minimum wage almost everywhere I go :\ Unless its a bank that hires 17 year olds. But I guess I wont have to worry about jobs for long. I turn 18 in october so that means I can basically apply anywhere
Good luck on your new job though, Filing & scanning papers is soo easy. I’d rather do that than flip burgers lol.

I hate it that Dumbledore dies. I was in shock when I read that in the book. I also don’t like when Sirius dies. It was just like one person after the other. Not very nice. That sounds like the perfect job for me. I would love to get paid to do almost nothing. Too easy.

The doll in the video is actually the only doll I have now…other than those dolls that are in my family’s display cabinet. Those dolls are the ones that close their eyes when you tip them back. They’re kind of creepy.
