Getting Started

You just recently got hosted and got your account information sent to you. Now you have no idea what to do.

  1. First thing you want to do is log-in to your cPanel. Use the user-name and password giving to you by your host.
  2. Next thing you want to do is get your FTP Information. To do that,  go under files and click FTP Accounts
  3. Now since you haven’t created any FTP Accounts yet, the one you want should be the first one.  It’s the one that has this little man on it:
  4. Under functions, click configure FTP client. Now under Manual Settings, you should see something like this:
    FTP Username: username@yoursite.com
    FTP Server: ftp.yoursite.com
    FTP Server Port: 21
    SFTP Server Port: 1838
    FTP Password: your cpanel password
  5. Now I want you to put that information into your FTP Client. I would recommend using FileZilla. It’s reliable and it’s my favourite so far. After your sign in with filezilla you can start adding your files.
  6. You can install WordPress. WordPress is  one of the best blogging systems. It’s easy to use and figure out.
  7. Installing WordPress is easy. If you need some help, follow this tutorial.
